Happy Birthday, Jesus!

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" -Matthew 1:23

Christmas is about giving and sharing.  For me, christmas is one of my favorite time because we could spend a great time and have fun with our whole family.  It is also a special season because it is the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ.

When Christmas break is approaching, we can see a big smile on every person's face.

Everybody is looking forward for Christmas because of gifts, raffles, foods, and the family reunion.  Every  midnight of December 24, we always go to mass and we celebrate Noche Buena after the mass.  My parents, titos, titas, lolo, and lolas will give us gifts and money.  Then on December 25, we always gather and have a mini Christmas party at "Turod".  But Christmas is not only about foods and gifts.  Christmas is the time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  He is our savior.  He sacrificed himself for us.  And as a gift for Him, we should give love and share blessings to other people.  In this, many people will be happy same goes to Him.  Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Stop, Now!

We all know that violence against women and children is one of the major problem that we are facing now a days.  There's still those countries that dominates women.  They violate and torture women and worst they are being neglected by the society.  As years passed, women had already the courage to voice out their rights as women.  That there is equality between male and female, that no one should be allowed to go under violence.

And because of the inequality between men and women, GAD (Gender and Development) was made.
Gender and development is an interdisciplinary field of research and applied study that implements a feminist approach to understanding and addressing the disparate impact that economic development and globalization have on people based upon their location, gender, class background, and other socio-political identities.

In the eyes of God, we are all equal because he made us all equal from the very start.  We shall protect our own rights as women and love one another to gain peace.

Love our Home

"The aesthetic value of creation cannot be overlooked.  Our very contact with nature has a deep restorative power; contemplation of its magnificence imparts peace and serenity.  The Bible speaks again and again of the goodness and beauty of creation, which is called to glorify God.  Pope John Paul II said.

We cannot deny that nature provide everything that we need in order for us to live in this world.  But we are abusing it because of our own benefit not thinking about what will happen in the next generation.  We are slowly destroying God's beautiful creation if that so.

As a youth, we must do our best to protect our environment.  We must unite to bring back the beauty of our nature many years ago.  How clean, peaceful and beautiful it could be.  We could do simple things like proper waste disposal, planting trees, conserving water and electricity.

"Freedom consists not in doing what we like,  but in having the right to do what we ought."

All for One, One for All

The United Nations is an international organization formed in 1945 to increase political and economic operation among its member countries.  It is also responsible for maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations, achieving international cooperation and being a center for harmonizing the actions of nations.

October is the month for celebration of United Nations (UN).  It aims to inform us that we should know the status and capabilities of our own country.  Many activities are done during this month celebration that is indeed very related to UN that gave us knowledge about UN.

We are one.  We may have different cultures and beliefs but we are all humans.  We speak different languages but we are one.  We came from the common ground.  And also, we are united as one.

My Finish Line

It was again a stressful quarter but I also have fun during this 2nd quarter.  Learning isn't easy.  We always discover things that are new to us.  We had to go thought a lot of challenges again which we had overpass today.  Many activities and school requirements are the reasons why we had a stressful quarter but now we have overcome them.

I had fun making blogs and studying and doing activities about HTML tags.  It was very new to me but because of these, I learned how to use the HTML tags now.  The new lessons which teacher taught us was so cool that I have the guts to listen well to her so that I can follow our new lessons.  There are many difficulties along the way to the end of the 2nd quarter but I passed them because of my determination to overcome them.

On the next quarter, I will again do my very best to understand the next lessons.  I will try to avoid being tired and unhappy so that I can live my life happier someday without thinking any pain.

My Teacher, My Lucky Charm

"The mediocre teacher tells.  The good teacher explains.  The superior teacher demonstrates.  The great teacher inspires."  -William Arthur Ward

Why is a teacher important to every student?  You see, teaching is a very hard work.  The teachers only rest when it is break time and they stand and talk in front of us and discuss in an hour.  How can we not appreciate them?  They are the best.

Our second home is the school and the teachers are our second parents.  How grateful I am to have them as my teacher and at the same time my parents in school.  They are like angels sent from above to guide and help us to be ready and successful in the future.  We may not show how much we appreciate and look up to them, but I know that they feel loved and appreciated by the way how we surprised them during teacher's day.

Without the teachers, we may not have workers and professionals right now because they are our lucky charms.  They are the reason for  all of the success in the world.  Their blood, sweat and tears are their weapons to make us successful in the near future.  They deserve all the happiness that the world could give just like how they made us all happy and contented.  And may God shower them many blessings.  Happy Teacher's Day to all of our lucky charms around the world! We love you!

School Intramurals

Let me ask you a question.  Are you happy when you hear the word INTRAMURALS?  Of course you do right?  Because it is the day where we can all be happy and at the same time, you are also chilling after the hell weeks.  Laughter can be heard during this event.  And it can also bring joy to every students' hearts.

Students are always looking forward to their school intramurals which is one of the most exciting event in our high school days because it intramurals is one of the time where we can all be happy and bond with our classmates and also other students.  Exciting booths  are built during intramurals by different clubs or organizations which can add excitement to everyone.  Also, the games and competitions help the students or the athletes to develop more of their skills and talents. And the winners will be representing our own school to other sports competition.
As a CAT officer, we helped in organizing and facilitating the intramurals and made sure that our school is in peace during the event.  We were placed under the sun and it was really tiring but above all, we are happy and contented because we have served our dear school once again.

VIVA VIGAN!!!

"We've got to face the fact that some people say you fight fire best with fire, but we say you put fire out best with water. We say you don't fight racism with racism. We're gonna fight racism with solidarity."

Vigan is an island, which used to be detached from the mainland by three rivers - the great Abra River, the Mestizo River and the Govantes River. It is unique among the Philippine towns because it is the country’s most extensive and only surviving historic city that dates back to the 16th century Spanish colonial period.

Every September, Vigan City celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. This month-long festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world, aims to strengthen the pride in the city’s history and culture, promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.

Vigan City is a home of an amazing culture so we must protect and be proud of our own city.  VIVA, VIGAN!!!

Journey To A Happy School

"Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata'y Itaguyod."

As we articulate our vision of enabling our Filipino learners in realizing their full potential and making them builders of our nation, a call of creating a more positive school culture, a place where people work and learn happier must be the covenant and passion of all stakeholders.  The Department of Education Region 1 launched an advocacy on how to make schools happy and also believes that establishing a positive school atmosphere reflects quality service.  Being a happy student can make the whole school happy.  Every children has the right to go to school and learn new things.  But we don't only go to school to gain and learn something new.  We also go to school to have friends and to be happy.  The students brings joy and fulfillment to teachers and to our school.

A happy school leads to a successful school.  According to William Butler Yeats, "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."  We can be successful in the end if we study hard and live happily.

The Quarter Which Gave Me Strength

"Try and try until you succeed."  These words keeps on playing inside my mind every now and then.  First quarter was hard for me.  I'm not familiar about the last quarter's lessons but I have succeeded and here we are now with the next quarter.  In the 1st quarter, I have learned a lot.  I have gained and discovered new knowledge about those unfamiliar lessons of this subject.  And the lessons which was hard for me gave me strength to continue studying and learning.  Thanks to my teacher who made my first quarter memorable. She helped me understand every lesson by teaching us well.  Also, thanks to my classmates who helped me overcome those hard lessons.  And to God who always guide me in everything I do.  He gives us wisdom, knowledge and understanding which we use in our everyday lives.

Together We Stand

Filipinos suffered a lot from the Spaniards who tried to own our country years ago.  But after our sufferings, it gave us happiness because we are free from their abusive treatment.  Independence Day was the day where our country, the Philippines was set free.  Freedom from the people who treated our ancestors badly.  It is the day to remember very Filipino who fought for us just to save our beloved county and people.
Every year, we celebrate Independence Day every June 12 to honor the beloved Filipinos who fought for us.  On June 12, 1898, it is also the day when President Emilio Aguinaldo, the 1st President of the Philippines, raise our beloved flag.  We should always be grateful and thankful for our heroes.  We may not thank them personally, but we should pray for them and for our country to have a better tomorrow.  And we should share what we know about them to show how much we respect and love them.
I will forever be proud that I am a Filipino and also, I will forever raise the flag of the Philippines.  The sacrifices of our brave fellow Filipinos should always be remembered.  They are our heroes.  Their blood is our blood too.  Together we stand, we are Filipinos.

Resiliency of Filipinos

Disaster.  They always appear suddenly and unexpectedly.  It is a natural catastrophe that causes great damage and loss of lives and will always be part of our lives to experience these dangerous disasters.

Planet Earth can survive from destruction if we, Filipinos help each other.  Disasters are one of the main reason of destruction.  They are very dangerous that most of us don’t want to experience these different disasters.  But we can survive with the resiliency of the Filipinos.  We may fall on our knees but we should stand up and continue to live.  These disasters may easily break us but we are Filipinos.   And Filipinos are known for being brave and that even if there are many challenges ahead of us, we can face them all.
“Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”.  This theme of the year’s National Disaster Resilience Month portrays that we should all be ready for any dangers that disasters will bring to our lives.  Disasters are unstoppable.   And conducting programs that can help each one of us to know more about preparedness when there is a coming of any disasters are very helpful.  Disasters are very serious and we should take it seriously.  And always remember that preparedness is the key to safety.

Healthy People

Health is wealth.  Having a healthy lifestyle can change your life.  It can make you happy and enjoy your life because health is very important to us.  If you are healthy, you are also wealthy.
“Kumain ng Wasto at maging Aktibo, Push natin to!”  The Nutrition Month is celebrated every July of the year.  Many activities are being conducted during Nutrition Month like the Nutri-Jingle, Food Festival, Nutri-Quiz and Poster Making.  Anyone can join these activities.  The Nutri-Jingle is very fun.  It can enlighten the coordination of everybody and also their talents in singing, dancing and composing.  The Food Festival requires us to sell healthy foods.  In the Nutri-Quiz, it gives us new knowledge about nutrition.  While in the Poster Making, it helps us to think wisely and to express ourselves freely.  The theme “Kumain ng Wasto at maging Aktibo, Push natin to!”  shows the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to us.
Healthy people will be able to have a healthy lifestyle and to live longer.  Many people have died because of not having proper nutrition.  They get sick.  Let us all remember that this celebration means that we should treasure nutrition.  It leads us to a healthier and happier life.

Heart Braking

Nowadays, earthquake occurs in many places here in the Philippines and we are all affected and nervous because we know that anytime, it may occur so we must all be ready.  We must all be prepared so we should know the practice called earthquake drill.  An earthquake drill is a drill used to practice in preparation for an earthquake.  Schools in some areas conduct earthquake drills and one of those were our school.
An earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the earth’s lithosphere that creates seismic waves.  It is dangerous because it can kill thousands of people or bring them in danger.  We need to know the safety drill so that we will know what to do before, during and after an earthquake.  Earthquake may occur anytime and anywhere.  It causes us to be afraid.  That’s why we need to know the earthquake drill and be aware of the things that could happen when an earthquake occurs by the help of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
Always be aware of your surroundings and be safe.  Let’s all remember that earthquake may occur anytime.  We cannot control this matter so we should always stay calm when it occurs.  Always be ready and take this seriously.  Duck, cover and hold.

Letter to Mr. President

To our Beloved President,
I would like to express my thoughts to you about what is happening to our country, Philippines.  As a high school student, I am really disappointed about the last election, the broken promises of yours, the killing of innocent lives, the politicians who steals money, the use of drugs and many more.  Many Filipinos are not happy about the tragedies that is happening and may occur the next days.  We don’t want something to bring our country down.  But why is this happening?
I want to know if you can find a way to lessen these happenings.  The killing of lives or innocent people is not good.  Many of us are affected about that kind of doing.  Also, the politicians who steals money.  What is the use of their positions if they steal?  Money is important but it is earned, not stolen.  About the last election, there were many candidates of the election.  But the ones who gained many votes were the ones who can bring our country down.  But what can we do?  Nothing.
I hope you can help and read my letter Mr.  President.  I hope that our country will have a better tomorrow.  Thank you!  God bless you, Mr.  President.

The One and Only

Hey bro! I am Rosh Adelaide Riego Tabilang and I really like warm hugs like Olaf.  I'm just a young girl with such dreams and I am UNIQUE.  I can be anyone's soldier.  Just call my name and I'll be there.
I love how the stars shine brightly when I look up in the beautiful night sky and how the moon gives me a little light in my room when it is dark.  The sound of the rain which gives music to my ears and the scent of the rain which I love to smell.  And how I love it when I ride an airplane and fly up high.  It gives me comfort when I ride an aircraft and I am still here waiting for my next ride to an aircraft again.

I have flaws and I'm not afraid to show it to anyone because nobody's perfect.  If there comes a problem, we should stand tall and face it.  Chin up, wear your bright smile and show that you are beautiful inside and out.
